Archiving Policy

The Asia Journal of Social Innovation and Development (AJSID), has a standardized and mature archiving system, which is formulated in line with international academic publishing norms and focuses on the long-term preservation, accessibility and traceability of academic achievements. The specific archiving policy is as follows:

1. Core Archiving Principles

AJSID adheres to the principles of academic integrity and open science, and its archiving policy is designed to ensure the permanent preservation of published academic content, facilitate academic retrieval and citation, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of authors and the authority of academic achievements. All archived content must be consistent with the final published version, and any tampering or modification is strictly prohibited.

2. Archiving Scope

The archived content of AJSID covers all formally published works, including but not limited to:

Original research papers, review articles, and policy commentaries published in the journal;

Supplementary materials attached to published articles (such as datasets, appendices, and research protocols);

Peer review records and editorial materials related to published articles (kept confidential to protect the privacy of reviewers and editors);

Manuscripts, peer reviews, and correspondence related to the journal from 1991 to 2010 (archived as a special digital research archive after a 10-year embargo period, with author and reviewer information kept confidential).

3. Author Self-Archiving Guidelines

AJSID has clear norms for author self-archiving, following the green open access policy of the American Sociological Association (ASA), with the following specific requirements:

Preprint Archiving: Authors are allowed to archive preprint versions of their manuscripts (unreviewed or revised drafts) on personal websites or non-commercial open access repositories.

Postprint Archiving: Authors are allowed to archive the postprint version (the version after peer review and revision, before typesetting) on personal websites or institutional repositories.

Published Version Archiving: The formally published version (typeset and finalized version) is prohibited from being archived without authorization.

Archiving Requirements: When archiving, authors must clearly indicate the official source of the article (Asia Journal of Social Innovation and Development), acknowledge the journal, and link to the official published version of the article. If the article is accepted for publication, authors must update the archiving content with a statement confirming the acceptance status.

4. Archiving Management and Maintenance

Regular Backup: AJSID conducts regular full backups of archived content, storing backup data in multiple physical and cloud storage locations to prevent data loss due to equipment failure, network problems, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Long-Term Accessibility: AJSID is committed to maintaining the long-term accessibility of archived content. Even if there are adjustments to the journal’s operation, the archived content will be transferred to authoritative third-party academic archiving institutions to ensure that published academic achievements can be retrieved and used permanently.

6. Compliance and Norms

AJSID’s archiving policy complies with international academic norms and the open access requirements of major funding agencies. It is closely linked to the journal’s peer review system and copyright management, ensuring that the archived content is authentic, standardized, and traceable. The policy is regularly reviewed and updated to adapt to the development of open science and academic publishing.
